Committees
ACORE is creating a leadership forum across all renewable energy sectors, building a greater sense of common purpose, developing a better understanding about renewable energy issues, and sponsoring national outreach about the benefits of putting renewable energy to use in America.ACORE established committees to work on issues of critical importance to their sector of the industry. Since 2004, ACORE members have built four working committees and established two collaborations:
- Higher Education Committee
- The Higher Education Committee provides forums, information, tools and other resources to academic institutions to increase the use of renewable energy on campus.
- Electrical Services Committee
- The Electrical Services Committee was formed to identify and address the key issues that face electric utility organizations as they adopt greater amounts of renewable sources of electricity.
- Biomass Coordinating Council
- The Biomass Coordinating Council is actively working to accelerate the adoption of renewable fuels, biopower and biobased products through policy initiatives, convening, networking and communications.
- Climate Change Committee
- Members will gather to concentrate on renewable energy topics and their greater applicability to climate change.
- American Bar Association Renewable Energy Committee Collaboration
- This collaboration between ACORE and the American Bar Association offers monthly renewable energy teleconferences, with live locations in major cities across the U.S. Programming is of most interest to professionals in law, policy, business, financing and related fields.
- Economics Committee
- The Economics Committee will be composed of professionals from ACORE’s members who convene regularly through the ACORE Committee structure to advance the economic and financial benefits of the renewable energy field.
- International Committee
- The International Committee serves to interact with global policy leaders on the advancement of renewable energy; bring quality information on foreign renewable energy markets to the United States; and partner with REEEP, REN 21, and other international organizations committed to developing effective renewable energy policies and programs.
- REGBEE Committee
-
The REGBEE Committee serves to accelerate sustainability practices, educate and communicate with thought leaders, provide networks for project funding, build connectivity to higher education.
Developing Committees
ACORE members have shown a strong interest in developing successful working committees focused on specific areas of discussion. To meet this interest, the following committees are in development:
- Communications Committee
- The Communications Committee, formed to foster industry-wide, consensus-driven communications for the benefit of the entire renewable energy community, works to communicate the benefits of renewable energy to the public and policy leaders.
