Jeramy Shays - Policy Associate

Jeramy Shays

As Policy Associate for ACORE, Jeramy works with ACORE staff and members to help develop and implement the organization’s policy strategy, and is primarily responsible for educational and outreach activities on Capitol Hill.  She assists in research, development of educational material and conferences regarding the benefits of bringing renewable energy into the mainstream of American economy and lifestyle, as well as the policies to make this possible.  Jeramy also serves as staff to the Climate Change Committee and its two working groups, the Markets Working Group and Policy Working Group.

Jeramy joined ACORE in 2008 after completing a joint Law and Masters of Environmental Management degree (MEM) from Vermont Law School and Yale School of Environmental Studies.  She has had a variety of work/internship experiences in the non-profit, government and for-profit sectors that have enhanced her research, advocacy, policy and legal skills.

During her graduate and undergraduate schooling, Jeramy interned at the Environmental Defense Fund, National Wildlife Federation, The Wilderness Society, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of CT, a Member of Congress, the U.S. Embassy in Denmark and General Electric’s Corporate Environmental Program.  Prior to graduate school, Jeramy was a Research Associate and Director of Seminars at the Environmental Law Institute.

Ms. Shays received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Principia College, her J.D. from Vermont Law School and her Masters of Environmental Management (M.E.M.) from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
