Linda DaCosta – Communications Advisor

As Director of Corporate and Member Communications for ACORE, Ms. DaCosta is responsible for all aspects of external communications. She works with ACORE leaders to develop the organization’s communications strategy, and is responsible for implementing all facets of the resulting programs. These include ACORE promotional materials, member emails and newsletters, conference notifications, press releases, and website development and content for www.acore.org.
Ms. DaCosta joined ACORE in 2008, having worked for over 10 years in various communications roles for America Online. From 2001 to 2007 she led AOL’s global internal communications as vice president, managing at AOL’s zenith a staff of more than 30 web communications and events planning professionals. She brings a wealth of experience in website creation and content management and was instrumental in planning and implementing all of AOL’s strategic webcast meetings and conferences for its globally dispersed employee population of 20,000. Ms. DaCosta also understands the digital and non-digital marketing communications disciplines of advertising and public relations, having worked for major corporations in Michigan and Florida, and run her own advertising and consulting firm serving major clients in South Florida.
Ms. DaCosta received her B.A. in English Literature from Kalamazoo College and also holds an M.A. in English from the University of Michigan. She is fluent in conversational French, having studied at the University of Strasbourg as an undergraduate. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Loudoun chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Leesburg Abused Women’s Services (LAWS), a non-profit community service that provides shelter and legal services for abused women.
