ACORE Commends Heather Zichal for Outstanding Leadership in Advancing President Obama’s Climate and Renewable Energy Goals

For Immediate Release: October 8, 2013

Washington, DC – Heather Zichal, Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change, announced that she is stepping down from her post in a matter of weeks. Zichal has been instrumental in putting together the Administration’s climate change strategy, which became public in June, and plan for achieving the President’s goal of doubling renewable energy generation by 2020.

 “Heather Zichal has been a tremendous force for advancing the President’s climate change and renewable energy goals,” said Michael Brower, ACORE interim President and CEO. “The policies of the last few years have led to significant private investment in and development of our nation’s abundant renewable energy resources. Heather and her team have done an outstanding job in working with others in the Administration, Congress and the private sector to support these accomplishments. We extend to her our best wishes for continued success.”
