Renewable Energy Communications Committee
The Renewable Energy Communication Committee (REComm)
The Renewable Energy Communication Committee (REComm) was established in order to convene and harness the leading renewable energy communicators with the goals of:
--Providing ACORE Members with the information they need to make their RE businesses succeed and to provide Speaker Toolkits to use for public speaking engagements, in meetings with legislators or for op-ed pieces.
-- Improving the public's understanding of renewable energy so that they may become informed voters, so that they understand the role RE can play in America's energy future, and in the role RE plays in growing American jobs, securing energy production, and slowing climate change. With our Committee's expertise, we will seek to build a RE Wikipedia on the acore.org site, a source for learning about RE for the public.
--Providing Talking Points and Legislative Toolkits for Members who are working with legislators to bring RE into the mainstream through policy.
Three working groups within the Committee will concentrate on:
Member Communication (managing this GroupSite area; outreach with Members; providing content for Member Updates, blogs, etc.)
Public Communication (building and managing a Renewable Energy Wikipedia, research and solutions into why the Public doesn't understand what Renewable Energy is or why they should care about it)
Policy Communication (how can the Committee help effectively communicate the need for the adoption of renewable energy legislation and policy)
The inaugural meeting will be on ACORE Member Day, February 3, 2010, from 10:30 – 12:00.
