April 2, 2014
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Room 203, New Orleans Convention Center
On April 2nd, ACORE convened our members, key stakeholders and thought leaders in New Orleans, Louisiana for a Regional Roundtable, as a side event to the Electric Power conference at the New Orleans Convention Center. The Regional Roundtable, hosted by PosiGen, featured an update on the policy and legislative landscape in the Southeastern states, provided by Mr. Lee Peterson, Senior Manager, CohnReznick. Mr. Peterson was followed by Ms. Emeline Minor, Director, Kilowatt Financial, and Mr. Tom Cira, President, Bridge Capital Leasing, Bank United, who shared insight on renewable energy financing options.
The regional discussion focused on renewable energy development and deployment in Louisana, and recent developments in net energy metering, with presentations from Mr. D. Andrew Owens, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Entergy; Mr. Royce Duplessis, Associate Attorney, Utilities Regulatory Advisor to the New Orleans City Council, Dentons; Mr. Forest Bradley Wright, Utility Policy Director, Alliance for Affordable Energy, and Mr. Tom Neyhart, CEO, Posigen.
With over 40 attendees, this was a substantive discussion on continued and enhanced market momentum in the Southeast, with all attendees in general agreement that residential and distributed generation markets should and will continue to grow, and the net energy metering cap should be addressed at the Louisiana Public Utilities Commission. The meeting agenda and speaker presentations are available at: http://www.acore.org/new-orleans-regional-roundtable-agenda
We look forward to our next Regional Roundtable, in Austin, TX on May 22nd. With any questions about ACORE’s Regional Roundtable program, please feel free to contact Alla Lipsky at Lipsky@acore.org.
