Plus Northeast “Touhoku Tour” December 4-6

The Department of Commerce will host a renewable energy policy roundtable in Japan that will coincide with the Department of Energy’s Energy Policy Dialogue. The roundtable will be organized jointly by the Department of Commerce and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) and will take place December 3 in Tokyo. The point will be to allow U.S. companies to ask questions directly to Japanese policy-makers and, at the same time, gain a deeper understanding of where the policy environment in Japan is headed over the coming years.
Following the roundtable, the delegation will travel to Fukushima Prefecture and Sendai for site visits to hear firsthand about the role of renewable energy in Japan’s rebuilding efforts from local officials. This portion of the trip, while encouraged, is not mandatory.
Space is limited to only 20 companies.  The application deadline is November 9, 2012, but applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting next week.
If companies are interested, here is the website with more detailed information on the participation fees and how to apply:  http://export.gov/reee/eg_main_054052.asp.
