The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and the United States Partnership for Renewable Energy Finance (US PREF) have identified an impending gap in government policy, impacting private financing for renewable energy projects.
Renewable energy finance experts will discuss an important new survey of the leading financiers of renewable energy projects on the impact of the Section 1603 Treasury Grant Program and implications if Congress does not extend this important policy measure.
If the program is allowed to expire in 2010, the level of capital that is available to finance renewable energy is anticipated to decline by more than 50%, jeopardizing the installation of clean renewable power projects throughout the U.S., curtailing the job generation that this sector has provided, and limiting the AdministrationâEUR(TM)s goal of doubling the production of renewable energy in three years. |
