Jan. 29, 2010; Washington, DC -- Carol Browner, Advisor to the President for Energy and Climate Change, will speak in the opening session of RETECH 2010 on February 3, 2010 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Ms. Browner is expected to follow up on President ObamaâEUR(TM)s State of the Union address from January 27th, where he said, âEURoeThe nation that leads the clean energy economy will be the nation that leads the global economy. And that nation needs to be America.âEUR

âEURoeWe are very pleased that Carol Browner will open the RETECH 2010 conference. Following the PresidentâEUR(TM)s State of the Union speech, we are looking forward to Ms. Browner to set the vision for the next phase of renewable energy, energy efficiency and climate policy,âEUR said Michael Eckhart, President of ACORE.

Speaking at a previous ACORE conference in November of 2009, Ms. Browner said that we are âEURoefinally starting to rebuild the clean energy industryâEUR in the United States. Before, during and since that time, billions of Federal dollars have been invested in renewable energy, bringing online many new clean energy projects and saving or creating over 10,000 jobs in the clean energy industry.

In his first State of the Union address, President Obama said no area of the economy is more ripe for innovation than the energy sector. The President has also said that âEURoecomprehensiveâEUR energy and climate legislation is needed to create incentives that would make clean energy profitable. He has always listed job creation as one of the benefits of comprehensive energy and climate legislation. RETECH 2010 will provide high-level government and clean energy industry leaders an intensely-focused venue in which to discuss how renewable energy can and will lead the way to a strong, sustainable economy for America. The US Renewable Energy Industry will gather its key leaders at RETECH 2010 to, in addition, discuss the policies, financial mechanisms and market opportunities that will be driving the industry forward in 2010.

RETECH features a multi-track business conference, divided up into 40 sessions headlined by key corporate and political leaders in the renewable energy industry, including a plenary session chaired by Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke. Key government officials, decision-makers from the Federal Government as well as the private sector who are investing in renewable energy technologies and products will be on hand to speak about the scaling up of a clean, green economy in the United States.

RETECH 2010 is co-produced by the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and TradeFair Group, an Access Intelligence Company. The event is sponsored by over 31 notable leaders in the industry and supported by 61 supporting organizations and 42 media partners.
