Washington, DC -- The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) is pleased to announce four new Board Members as the result of the annual election held in October, 2010.

â"All of this year's candidates were immensely qualified and we are honored by their desire to serve," said Michael Eckhart, President of ACORE. "Our open election process is one of the strengths of ACORE, ensuring an annual addition of new people to our leadership, chosen by ACORE members."

The four, newly-elected ACORE Board of Directors are:

Stephen E. Morgan, CEO & Chairman, American Clean Energy , who said ,"It is a privilege to be selected to the ACORE Board of Directors. I look forward to working with the membership, staff and other interested stakeholders as we endeavor to bring renewable energy into the American mainstream."/p>

Judy Siegel, President, Energy and Security Group who added, "I am pleased and honored to have been selected to the ACORE Board of Directors. As a prior Board Member, I fully support the organization and will assist in its continued expansion and growth as ACORE seeks to mainstream renewable energy in the U.S. and open markets for U.S. companies overseas."

"ACORE is playing a major role in the advancement of technologies and partnerships in support of our Nation's clean energy future," said Cathy Snyder, Lockheed Martin's Vice President of Energy and Environment Initiatives within its Washington Operations organization. "Solving a challenge of this complexity requires a collaborative approach to innovation, Lockheed Martin is proud to serve on ACORE's Board of Directors and participate in such an important dialogue."

"I am very pleased to be joining ACORE's board of directors," said Kenneth Westrick, Founder & CEO, 3TIER. "3TIER was an early member, and we've always felt that ACORE is a very practical and effective advocate for the responsible development of renewable energy. ACORE also has a cross renewable and technology agnostic perspective, which is a really good philosophical fit. I look forward to being an active member of the ACORE board of directors and further advancing its leadership within the industry."

"We would also like to say thank you to the outgoing Board members , Howard Lerner, Mel Jones, and Jim McDermott, who have served ACORE well for many years," said Eckhart. "ACORE will enter into its second decade in 2011, working to scale up renewable energy to 25% of the U.S. energy supply by 2025. ACORE's Board of Directors and Advisory Board provide leadership on achieving those goals. Board members serve four-year terms and meet quarterly."
