ACORE Board Co-Chair to advise Secretary Moniz on science, energy, security and environmental stewardship

WASHINGTON, DC – The Department of Energy announced today that ACORE Board of Directors’ Co-Chairman Dan Reicher has been appointed to the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board. The Board focuses on four major DOE mission areas: science, energy, nuclear security, and environmental stewardship.
“I am honored and excited to be headed back to the Department of Energy to work with Secretary Moniz and the entire DOE team on improving US security, protecting the environment, and enhancing the economy. Clean energy is a key element of this equation and I look forward to working with the Secretary and the talented Energy Department leadership and staff to advance it.,” said Reicher.
Reicher has more than 25 years of experience in energy and environmental technology, policy, finance and law, including serving in the Clinton administration at the Department of Energy for eight years as assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, DOE chief of staff, and acting assistant secretary for policy and international. He was a member of President Obama's transition team and an adviser to the Obama campaign on energy and climate issues. Reicher came to Stanford University from Google Inc., where he served since 2007 as director of climate change and energy initiatives. Reicher also was an executive with a venture-backed renewable energy company and co-founded a private equity firm that invests in clean energy projects.

Reicher co-chairs the ACORE board with Dan Adler, President of the California Clean Energy Fund.
