Manager, Vehicle Fuels and Advanced Technology Policy,
Daniel R. Frakes is the Manager of Advanced Technology and Vehicle Fuels Policy for the Public Policy Center of General Motors.
In this position, Mr. Frakes has responsibility for environmental, climate and energy policy initiatives at the federal, state and local levels. In addition, he also works on policy issues related to advanced vehicle technologies including vehicles capable of running on alternative fuels, hybrids, plug-in vehicles, fuel cells and advance clean diesel.
Prior to joining the Public Policy Center, Mr. Frakes was Manager of the Energy, Environmental and Safety Strategy Board of GM’s Global Energy Center. In this role, he was responsible for leading strategy board meetings of GM’s top leadership focusing on issues and changes to public policy, governmental regulations, CAFE, and overall energy, environmental and safety topics worldwide. He also led efforts to manage and grow GM’s fuel economy segment leadership strategy on a global basis.
Mr. Frakes also worked in GM’s Specialty Show Vehicles group, with a focus on creating show vehicles for various marketing divisions like Cadillac.
Mr. Frakes received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in management and marketing from Walsh College.
