Tim Olson

Policy and Research Manager

As the Policy and Research Manager, Tim Olson works closely with ACORE’s senior leadership team and members to manage policy-related member programs and meetings. Tim closely monitors U.S. electric power sector tax, finance, and other policy areas, as well as renewable industry developments, to produce high-quality resources and written materials.

Prior to joining ACORE, Tim was a Program Director and Director of Legal Affairs for The Solar Foundation. While working at the foundation, he led and supported multiple U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technology Office grants, focusing on Property Assessed Clean Energy finance and workforce development soft costs. Tim received his law degree with high honors from the George Washington University Law School where he was a member of the law review and focused on energy and environmental law and policy.

Bradford T. Nordholm

Vice Chairman & Senior Managing Director

Bradford T. Nordholm is a Vice Chairman & Senior Managing Director of Starwood Energy and is responsible for investor and industry relations, and corporate development. He is a member of the Investment, Asset Management and Valuation Committees and serves as a director of select portfolio companies. Since joining Starwood Energy as its first CEO in 2006, Mr. Nordholm has overseen the completion of approximately two-dozen highly structured investments in power generation and transmission projects in North America, with aggregate enterprise value of approximately $4 billion.

Prior to joining Starwood Energy in 2006, Brad was Co-Founder and CEO of Tyr Energy, Inc., an asset management firm with responsibility for power generation assets valued at more than $5 billion, and, concurrently, was Co-Founder and Chairman of Tyr Capital, LLC, a private equity investment fund. Before that, he served as General Manager of Aquila, Inc, where he was responsible for the development, acquisition, management and optimization of power generation, gas storage and transportation assets with aggregate enterprise value of approximately $3.5 billion, and as CEO of U.S. Central, a $36 billion asset wholesale financial services company.

Brad received a B.A. degree in economics from Carleton College, and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.

Conor Fryer

Public Affairs Coordinator

As public affairs coordinator for the American Council on Renewable Energy, Conor supports a broad range of activities including web content development, earned media management and monitoring, social media outreach, industry collaboration, policy research, writing and other administrative support needs for the policy and communications teams.

Prior to joining ACORE, Conor was a communications intern at ACORE. He also interned at the Advisory Board Company. He received a B.S. from The Ohio State University where he majored in Biology and minored in Economics.

Patrick Reiten

Senior Vice President of Government Relations
Berkshire Hathaway Energy

Patrick Reiten is senior vice president of government relations at Berkshire Hathaway Energy. Reiten is responsible for leading the national policy and legislative work of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, an $91 billion portfolio of locally managed businesses that share a vision for a secure and sustainable energy future.

Reiten has extensive experience in executive leadership in the energy business. Prior to his current role, he was president and chief executive officer of PacifiCorp Transmission at PacifiCorp, a position he has held since March 2015, managing the West’s largest single owned-and-operated transmission system. Prior to that role, Reiten was President and CEO of Pacific Power, an electric energy company serving about 750,000 customers in California, Oregon and Washington. He was appointed to that role in September 2006.

Before joining PacifiCorp, Reiten was president and chief executive officer of PNGC Power, an energy cooperative located in Portland, Oregon. He was appointed to that position in May 2002 and was responsible for the overall operations of two corporate entities (PNGC Power and Power Resources Cooperative). Prior to PNGC Power, Reiten served as an aide to U.S. Sen. Mark O. Hatfield, responsible for many issues, particularly those associated with the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He also served as an official in several different capacities at the U.S. Department of Interior, including deputy director of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

Reiten has served in many director or board leadership roles in community and industry groups. He is the immediate past chair of Associated Oregon Industries and is co-chair of The Freshwater Trust; he also serves on the board of directors of Legacy Health System and Electric Transmission Texas LLC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in economics from the University of Washington and completed executive training at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

Paris Williams

Web Developer / Designer

As the Web Developer / Designer at the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE), Paris Williams is responsible for overseeing and managing the front-end design, development, and maintenance of ACORE websites and email newsletters. As part of the communication team, he also helps to drive ACORE’s evolving design approach in support of the overall content marketing strategy covering multiple channels and mediums, including print, digital, email and social media.

He brings over ten years of professional experience to the organization and has worked as a web and graphic design manager with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, a user experience designer with White & Partners and a production artist with Ernst & Young. Paris received his Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech, where he majored in Graphic Design and a Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University, where he majored in Web Design and New Media.
