Vice President of Communications
Gil Jenkins is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies that support ACORE’s mission to accelerate the transition to a renewable energy economy. In this role, he oversees a number of communications efforts designed to promote the policies and financial structures essential to renewable energy growth – including media relations, message development, email marketing, website direction, social media outreach and other ACORE communications campaigns, initiatives and events.
Prior to joining ACORE in 2017, Gil worked at Ogilvy where he led the firm’s clean energy & sustainability communications practice and counseled a broad range of corporate, government, nonprofit and start-up clients. Prior to Ogilvy, Gil worked at Weber Shandwick where he managed grassroots outreach and media relations for automotive and clean energy clients in California. Gil has also held PR agency roles at Ketchum in San Francisco and SHIFT Communications in Boston. He started his career as a public relations specialist at Raytheon.
Gil has served as an adviser for the MIT Clean Energy Prize and graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a major in Communication and a minor in Political Science.
